DESCRIPTION:Mizzou // University of Missouri\n\n\n\nJanuary 10 – 11\, 2019\n\n\n\nThere is a compelling need to change how we look at the opioid problem\, specifically its impact on workers and the workforce. \n\n\n\nThis two-day event will kick off a series of programs around Missouri designed to bring together people who make policy\, people who influence policy\, and those affected by these policies. \n\n\n\nThe goal is to develop a realistic action plan\, developed by and for the people most involved with the problem. \n\n\n\nWe invite you to be a part of the discussion\, and to help initiate real change in Missouri. \n\n\n\nTarget Audience: \n\n\n\nBusiness leaders who are in position to influence how their business’ employment practices are set.Labor leaders who recruit\, train and maintain a large force of ready-trained workers\, particularly from organizations that also provide health insurance plans.Health Care professionals interested in looking for alternative treatments and ways to reduce OUD.Community members\, those who work directly in the field with OUD sufferers as well as family members of sufferers and others who want to know more about what can be done differently than is being done now.\n\n\n\nObjectives/Outcomes \n\n\n\nUnderstand how opioids are impacting the workforceUnderstand how and why the current employment practices dealing with opioids are problematic and likely to get worseExplore new ideas and ways of dealing with pain management\, medication\, perspectives of Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) recovery\, as well as return to work policies.Develop changes that could be made concerning employment and the intersection of consequences of the opioid crisis.Learn current information on the opioid crisisDiscuss the crisis as well as solutions with individuals from different backgrounds\n\n\n\nTopics Include: \n\n\n\nDefining the opioid use crisis and its impact on the workforceThe economic impact of addiction on individuals\, businesses and the communityExamining what does and doesn’t work in dealing with the crisisBuilding collaborationsCreating realistic strategies\n\n\n\nActivity approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ \n\n\n\nThe University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing education by the Midwest Multistate Division\, an accredited approver by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. \n\n\n\nMidwest Multistate Division Provider Number MO 1019-7 \n\n\n\nThe Missouri Bar has approved this program for 11.4 hours of CLE credit. \n\n\n\nPharmacy: The Continuing Education Committee of the Board of Pharmacy has reviewed and approved the conference for 1 CE(s) per session. SUMMARY:Winter Family Medicine Update 2019
DESCRIPTION:Missouri Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians\nJanuary 24 – 25\, 2019\n2019 Annual Winter Family Medicine Update\nCME Attestation\n1. Attendees will complete and submit TWICE DAILY CME attestation cards. Your attestation is required in order to award proper CME credit. Without completed and signed attestation cards\, NO CME credit will be awarded. 2. It will be the responsibility of the physican to honestly complete the attestation cards and turn them in each day. 3. The staff will compile the CME data and send each attendee a certificate and tally of hours attested to. Attendees will have one week to verify correctness. 4. Your CME credits will be reported to the AOA by the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons\, our AOA Accredited CME Sponsor. \nEducational Objectives\nLearn\, review and update clinical and technical knowledge; • Compare and relate medical knowledge and skills with those of your peers and experts; • Discuss new information in the different areas of medicine and how that information will impact the care of your patients; • Gain insight into the distinctive osteopathic approach to the practice of medicine; • Evaluate clinical information as it applies to the care of your patients. • Diagnose and treat illness as well as develop a plan for the prevention and/or therapeutic management of the various disorders presented. \nWho Should Attend\n• Family Physicians • General Practitioners • Nurse Practitioners • Physician Assistants • Nurses • Allied Healthcare Professionals • Any Primary Health Care Provider \nThe MSACOFP is presenting this program in cooperation with the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS).  MAOPS is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. MAOPS designates this program for a maximum of 29 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity. In addition\, 29 hours of AAFP Prescribed Credits have been submitted for approval to the AAFP Commission on Continuing Professional Development (COCPD). Approval is currently pending.
