Member Biography

Dr. Alan Erickson, M.D., is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.

He received his undergraduate degree in biology from the Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln and attended medical school at the University of Nebraska School Of Medicine, Omaha.  He completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology Fellowship at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado.

Dr. Erickson serves as Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the Section of Rheumatology and Immunology and Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, both in Omaha.  Dr. Erickson also serves as the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs for the College of Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Erickson holds wide-ranging interests in rheumatic diseases including rheumatoid arthritis and gout. Dr. Erickson participates in 2 off-campus outreach clinics and serves as a faculty member for the rheumatology fellowship training program at UNMC since its inception. He actively participates in the fellowship didactics and post-clinical conferences that are held weekly with the fellows, also attending the monthly journal clubs and other special didactic meetings. 

In addition, Dr. Erickson is actively involved in specialized radiographic interpretation and the many division research studies.
