Member Biography
Dr. Vardakis was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He enjoys the Midwest for its varying seasons and family values. He prides himself on delivering quality care to all his patients and treats them as if they were members of his family.
He graduated from Rockhurst High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia before pursuing his medical studies. He graduated with honors from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine (now Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences) in 1990. He then pursued an Internal Medicine Residency at Truman Medical Center and St. Luke’s on the Plaza and graduated in 1994. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Truman Medical Center at Hospital Hill in 1996, and completed his Internal Medicine/Gastroenterology training program at UMKC School of Medicine in 1996.
Once he completed all of his training, Dr. Vardakis remained on the faculty at Truman Medical Center Lakewood for 3-1/2 years before pursuing private practice in eastern Jackson County. He has been in private practice in Gastroenterology for the last 14 years.
Dr. Vardakis is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is actively involved with teaching students and residents as they rotate through his practice.
