Before the Alarm: What the ICU Reveals About Real Longevity

Before the Alarm is about what happens before that moment. It challenges the belief that you can fix your health later—with medications, procedures, or the latest biohacks.

You can’t.

Drawing from years in critical care medicine, Dr. M.K. Jarbou reveals a hard truth: The diseases that end lives—heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, and frailty—are built quietly over time. And they are often preventable.

This book is a practical guide to longevity, health span, and preventive medicine. Inside, you’ll learn:

  • The strongest predictors of survival
  • How muscle loss and aging increase the risk of hospitalization and death
  • The hidden role of sleep and circadian rhythm in chronic disease
  • When hormone replacement therapy is useful
  • The truth about GLP-1 medications, peptides, and biohacking trends
  • How to build physiologic reserve using The Reserve System—a science-based framework for longevity
